Tjulpun-tjulpunpa
This image is taken from Mrs Robin’s painting exhibited in Tjulpun-Tjulpunpa Art - vistas of wildflower country at the Adelaide Festival Centre, January, 2008. The environment is thriving with life after the rains, with yellow, pink and white tjulpun tjulpunpa (wildflowers). As a senior Anangu woman, Mrs Robin knows her country intimately and is custodian of the knowledge of countless generations of Anangu who have thrived in the unpredictable Australian desert.

Seasonal wildflowers abound in the desert in a profusion of colour. Manyitjanu is a senior traditional woman and custodian of the traditional knowledge and culture of Anangu who have survived for countless generations in the unpredictable desert of central Australia.

This painting is depicting two dreaming stories, the Mulga Worm dreaming and Duck dreaming. The place in the painting is associated with the country at Yakurrukaji, which is near Yuendumu. This painting shows the tracks of the duck dreaming gathering at a water hole. The wiggly circle around the ducks tracks are his intestine, that part that twists around inside it's stomach. The rest of the painting shows the worms that can be found around mulga trees and the tunnels they make. These underground chambers have created the natural soakages which can be found all over this part of the country.
