Better World Arts has an exciting range of hand crafted pieces that bring the skills and talents from diverse traditional cultures together, benefiting both communities economically and culturally.  

We have Aboriginal art, and a range of beautiful handicrafts based on aboriginal images.

Custom Making

We specialise in handmade cushions and rugs as well as contemporary Aboriginal paintings.  We can custom make for interior fit outs.

Artist Involvement

The artists involved in our projects earn an ongoing income via their engagement. Royalties are calculated and paid on a monthly basis. Many are not English speakers and their skills belong to their own culture, limiting opportunities to engage economically in the mainstream.  Thier Aboriginal See details

Artist Income

We have identified 7 income streams that can be harnessed to empower the community and we work towards these with Anangu. These women have made the ipiri, (grass) handicrafts and we sell them for the artists. Our beautiful Aborignal art gallery in Port Adleiade showcases See details

Cross Cultural Projects

Our Cross Cultural Projects are the main income stream for Anangu we work with. These fair trade, handmade bags bring benefits to artisans in West Bengal, and assist some very disadvantaged children to go to school via the artisans own efforts.

Cottage Industries

These cushions are from our Kashmiri project.  Traditional Kashmiri handicrafts made in beautiful remote villages, enabling people to create sustainable incomes in their homes, keeping families and communities together.  Here teh Aboriginal art is reproduced faithfully,  in small remote villages that have economies dependant on See details

Lacquerware

Kashmiri lacquer ware made from recycled paper and then hand painted with our designs,  is another branch of our Kashmiri projects.  Beautiful Aboriginal art is applied to the hand made boxes, hand painted by skillful artists in Kashmir,  continuing a handicraft that has been passed See details

Tibetan Partners

Beautiful Tibetan rugs made by the refugee community in Nepal grace our gallery and many Australian homes.

Aboriginal art transformed into hand made recycled silver jewellry from the Inca traditions is sent to us by Fair Trade producers in Peru.
